Following the introduction of very successful seminars in 2015, we are excited to offer an expanded seminar program for 2016, with more cities, many new topical areas and content reflecting the significant evolution of the network services market experienced in 2015 and projected for 2016!

Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0) provides a framework for the development, delivery, and certification of state-of-the-art standardized services. Industry-wide, we continue to see robust growth for the global Carrier Ethernet services market, which analysts estimate will exceed $50 billion in 2016. Major service providers are expanding CE 2.0 coverage, improving end-to-end capabilities and SLAs for both on and off-net constructed services. Numerous small to medium size providers are joining the community of standardized CE 2.0 access service providers.

Concurrently, we are witnessing exciting activities related to the multi-year transformation of the CE market from a pre-defined connectivity model toward a software-driven model in which Third Network services provides a dynamic, cloud-like experience with user-directed control over network resources. This transition begins with CE 2.0 certified services as the foundation upon which to build dynamic connectivity services powered by LSO (Lifecycle Service Orchestration), SDN, and NFV.

Internally at MEF and together with SDOs and Open Source partners, numerous new works are underway to achieve our Third Network goals. Many of these and other industry developments were recently debated and demonstrated at MEF's flagship GEN15 event, with 35 countries and 250+ organizations participating. The MEF Seminars 2016: Building Dynamic Third Network Services Powered By CE 2.0, LSO, SDN & NFV are regional micro-events that brings leading subject matter experts to locations around the globe to educate participants on industry trends and developments. Emphasis is on the preparation that service providers should consider to establish a solid CE 2.0 platform in support of new value-added innovations.

This presentation will explain how LSO is the critical enabler of automated and virtualized networks built with SDN and NFV. Currently, Service Providers need LSO capabilities and supporting APIs to overcome the OSS and BSS obstacles that prevent them from realizing the full benefits of emerging SDN and NFV technologies. 11:00 MEF's Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) Reference Architecture and Framework The LSO Reference Architecture and Framework defines the management and control layered reference architecture and the framework that characterizes the domains and management entities required to enable cooperative LSO capabilities for connectivity services. The framework also provides high level use cases describing orchestrated connectivity service behavior as well as interactions among management and control entities. The management and control reference points that characterize interactions between LSO management ecosystem components are identified in the framework. 11:40 Capturing the Wholesale Ethernet Interconnect Market with CE 2.0 Services

Widely deployed CE 2.0 networking fabrics are the foundation upon which to build Third Network services. While expanding upon extensive specifications, operational frameworks, and CE 2.0 certification programs, the MEF is also advancing important initiatives like the Ethernet Interconnect Points (EIP) Project and MEF Services Interconnect (MEF-SI) Program that streamline deployment of fully-featured interconnections between different service providers to maximize coverage of Third Network-ready infrastructure.

This session will cover the global deployment trends and services development initiatives with regards to CE 2.0 Service Lifecycle Process model with new specifications, implementation guides and certification programs. It will cover the different CE 2.0 service types, functionalities and attributes. Finally, it will present the E-Transit and OVC Services as the new Wholesale Ethernet game-changer.

Christopher Cullan

Christopher Cullan is passionate about helping communications service providers (CSPs) increase the value of their enterprise business services. He believes the increasingly software-driven nature of the industry provides a revolutionary opportunity for CSPs. As director of product marketing, business services solution at InfoVista he evangelizes the merits of SDN, NFV, Carrier Ethernet and application-aware networks for realizing CSPs’ full potential. Christopher has spent 20 years in the ICT industry in various roles providing design, implementation, security and project management services in the financial services sector, utilities and health-care before focusing on telecommunications in the last decade. He is InfoVista's liaison to the MEF focusing on Carrier Ethernet performance management and co-authored the MEF’s Third Network Vision and Strategy. Based just outside of Toronto, Canada, Christopher holds a bachelor of mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo.

Bruno Giguère
Product Marketing Director, MEF

Bruno Giguère is Director of Product Marketing at MEF. In this role, he is working with the different MEF committees, where he is instrumental in creating and coordinating the development of foundational content (technical and marketing presentations, white papers, web content and best practice guides etc.).

Bruno has held various technical and marketing positions in the Test and Monitoring industry, and prior to joining the MEF, with EXFO, a Test and Service Assurance company, where he was Sr. Advisor, CTO Office. He represented EXFO to many standard organizations including the MEF, OIF, ITU-T and Broadband Forum. From a MEF perspective, Bruno worked in the Technical Committee as editor of MEF 48 (SAT) and as co-chair of the Service Management Working Group in the Marketing Committee.  He was also the Canadian National Study Group Chairman for ITU-T Study Group 12 and was the editor for ITU-T Y.1564 (Service Activation Test Methodology). He has authored or co-authored numerous white papers, application notes, magazine articles and technology reference guides and presented in many technology seminars and webinars. Bruno holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the École de technologie supérieure in Montréal, Canada.

Andres Madero

Andres Madero is the Director of Service-Provider Architecture and Business Development for Latam at Infinera. He is responsible for engaging with service providers in the region, providing them with a unique perspective of industry trends, while demonstrating Infinera’s Intelligent Transport Network’s leading edge portfolio.

Andres has a distinguished networking career with extensive expertise in L0-L3 technologies and network architectures, from both a vendor and a service provider standpoint. He has over a decade of experience working closely with service providers helping them design next-generation networks across several countries in LATAM.

Previously Andres was Vice-President of Engineering & Business Development at Raisecom overseeing the America’s operation. Prior to leading the engineering team at Raisecom, he worked at C&W Networks across different areas ranging from optical-transmission, network architecture, to field & operations.

Andres holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Universidad del Norte, Colombia and a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix, US.

Thomas Mandeville

Thomas Mandeville joined Iometrix in 2007 and has extensive knowledge of the MEF certification program from a technical, operational and administrative perspective. In his role as Director of Operations he works closely with vendors and service providers members seeking certification.

Emerson Moura
Cisco Systems Engineer & MEF CALA Marketing Co-Chair

Emerson is a Distinguished Systems Engineer for Cisco in Latin America and is responsible for working with service providers on end-to-end, converged, multi-service network architectures. He has over 15 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry working with Optical Transport, IP/MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, IP+Optical convergence and more recently on SDN/NFV.

Emerson is also an active member of MEF where he's currently the Co-Chair for the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region.

He is a frequent speaker at industry events and has co-authored scientific papers have been presented at major industry conferences including MPLS & Ethernet World Congress and OFC/NFOEC.

He's graduated in Electrical Engineering by the FEI College of Industrial Engineering in Sao Paulo-Brazil and is certified as a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and MEF Carrier Ethernet Professional CECP 2.0.

Andrés Ramos

Andrés is the MEF Co-Chair for Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region where he is contributing to the MEF recognition and standards adoption in the Latin-American market. Current Product Portfolio Manager for INTERNEXA S.A. for data services over DWDM, SDH, MPLS and Carrier Ethernet Networks with over twelve years of experience in fixed and mobile networks. He is responsible for Planning, developing and launching data products for INTERNEXA´s customers around Latin-America.

He is an Electronic Engineer from Distrital University, a Telematics Specialist from Andes University in Bogota-Colombia and is a MEF Carrier Ethernet Certified Professional.

Helio has a Bachelor degree at Digital Technologies, a specialization at System Analysis and an MBA in Telecom Management at FGV. Marco Salomão is a Telecommunications specialist, has 30 years of management experience in multinational companies. It is post-graduate in Optical Networks at PUC-RIO and Graduating in History at UNIRIO. He is responsible for international submarine interconnection projects for the development of the Internet. He is currently Director of GlobeNet Submarine Cables, a company related to the telecommunications infrastructure fund at BTG-Pactual.

He was responsible for the connection of Brazil to the first Internet Autonomous System (AS1), in United States and also for the implementation of the first metropolitan optical network in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
