Within the LSO Reference Architecture, LSO Cantata APIs address the enterprise customer-to-business layer of business interactions with the service provider for delivered MEF standard services, like quoting, ordering, and inventory. They support end-to-end automation and orchestration of digital services at the LSO Cantata Interface Reference Point.
LSO Cantata APIs combine ‘product-agnostic TM Forum Open APIs’ with MEF 3.0 or service provider-specific ‘product payloads’. The initial work is in support of MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet services, which, when combined with LSO Sonata, enable full end-to-end service automation at the business layer of Carrier Ethernet services across multiple providers in a supply chain. This combination drastically accelerates an enterprise’s ability to access off-net business locations with robust, dynamic connectivity services.
The related LSO Cantata SDK and standards themselves apply to any MEF 3.0 service.
LSO Cantata is the Interface Reference Point between the business application layer of the service provider and the customer, enabling non-control-related management interactions.
End-to-end Service Automation and Orchestration of Digital Services for Enterprises
In cooperation with LSO Sonata, MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet services can be automated from end-to-end—from the subscriber through to the service provider and any partner operators. The LSO Cantata reference point and APIs are there to support any MEF 3.0 service; future services, like SD-WAN, will be developed, thus empowering the enterprise with frictionless access to digital services.
Work is underway to develop LSO Cantata and enable fully automated ordering of MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet services by the enterprise, across multiple providers. As a MEF member, you can help lead the industry in enabling this enhanced experience for enterprises. Find the latest project work in the MEF 3.0 LSO Cantata Hub on the MEF Members’ Wiki.
