MEF Launches Enterprise Advisory Council to Support Digital Transformation Across Entire MEF 3.0 Ecosystem

Founding council members include visionaries from Bloomberg, DHL, Intuit, Microsoft, PwC, RBC, Refinitiv, and Ubisoft

Los Angeles, 30 October 2018 – MEF is pleased to announce the launch of its Enterprise Advisory Council (EAC) at MEF18, 29 October – 2 November, at the JW Marriott LA Live in Los Angeles, California. This group of multi-national enterprises will gather to provide end user perspectives on how MEF 3.0 services can and will address the need for agility, simplicity, and assurance.

“Our rapidly evolving market is being shaped by disruptive technologies like SD-WAN, SDN, NFV, and LSO, making it essential to strengthen the channels of communication among enterprises, service providers, and technology vendors in order to provide information and feedback on business requirements and use cases,” said Nan Chen, President, MEF. “The MEF EAC brings representatives of the very important enterprise stakeholder group into direct engagement with MEF’s community of 200+ member service providers and technology-related companies. The council will collaborate with MEF and extend our reach to incorporate this critical element of the ecosystem and establish MEF as the enterprise’s trusted advisor in digital transformation.”

“Digital transformation is happening at every layer of the network, impacting how services are created, delivered, monetized, and consumed,” said Gert Vanderstraeten, Network Architect, Microsoft’s IT Network Infrastructure Services (CCE). “MEF is creating the framework for how automated networks will interoperate, bringing together the brightest minds from the enterprise, service provider, and vendor communities.”

MEF 3.0 services provide an on-demand, cloud-centric experience with unprecedented user- and application-directed control over network resources and service capabilities. The EAC’s initial goals are to drive adoption of MEF 3.0 services for cloud delivery of enterprise SaaS applications, explore LSO principles and open APIs for on-premises enterprise adoption, and influence vendor and service provider communities.
