LSO Legato

Intra-domain service orchestration and automation.

MEF LSO Legato APIs

Within the LSO Framework, LSO Legato APIs address the internal intra-domain operational interactions between the business applications (BSS) layer and the underlying service orchestration (OSS) layer for MEF-standardized services, for functionalities such as performance monitoring and fault management. It is these LSO Legato APIs that take a business-level operation, such as ordering a service, and communicates that requirement to the service orchestration layer, to instantiate that service within a provider’s domain.

LSO Legato APIs cover the following functionalities: Service provisioning and control; service function testing; service inventory; service performance monitoring; service fault management.

The related LSO Legato SDK and standards can be used with a range of MEF-standardized services.

LSO Legato Interface Reference Point

LSO Legato is the Interface Reference Point between the business applications (BSS) layer and service orchestration functionality (OSS) layer, supporting the management and operations of a service within a service provider’s domain.

What Can I Achieve with MEF LSO Legato APIs?

Standard LSO Legato APIs remove the need for each application from having to interface through different vendor-proprietary service orchestration APIs, which in turn enhances service providers’ ability to adopt best-in-breed vendor solutions.

Common information models ease internal development of microservices by eliminating mapping between proprietary models.

MEF LSO Legato API advantages:

  • Reduced product-management costs for technology providers.
  • Lower implementation costs for service providers.
  • Optimized development costs focused on feature/function versus integration.
  • Faster service implementation.
  • Lower total cost of ownership for service providers.
