MEF Opens Call for Proposals for MEF 3.0 Proof of Concept Showcase at MEF19

Service providers and technology vendors to present groundbreaking demonstrations of dynamic and assured services across automated, virtualized, interconnected networks

Los Angeles, February 12, 2019 – MEF is pleased to announce that the Call for Proposals for the sixth annual MEF 3.0 Proof of Concept (PoC) Showcase is now open. The MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase is the core of the MEF19 global networking event, held November 18-22, 2019 at the JW Marriott LA LIVE in Los Angeles, California. This year’s MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase will feature up to 20 live demonstrations by many of the world’s most renowned communications service providers and technology vendors.

“The MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase is the industry’s opportunity to display leadership in current and future network services, value-added service features, and advanced networking technologies,” said Nan Chen, President, MEF. “Each year we witness progressive innovations in this showcase, and we are eager to see what will be presented at MEF19 by the service providers, technology vendors, system integrators, and enterprises that are implementing MEF 3.0 concepts.”

The MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase is one of the most anticipated elements of MEF19 – the premier networking event of the year for high-ranking professionals who are pushing industry innovation for the digital service provider market. MEF19 is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees from 270+ companies and 35+ countries.

Participants in the MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase will be eligible for the MEF 3.0 PoC Awards, which recognize PoC teams that excel in illustrating dynamic and assured services orchestrated across automated, virtualized, and interconnected networks. A panel of leading industry analysts will review MEF 3.0 PoC demonstrations and score them on innovation, quality, and alignment with MEF’s work and MEF 3.0 vision.

“Many of the MEF 3.0 PoC demonstrations will highlight how service providers can implement different aspects of MEF 3.0 services, including concepts involving blockchain technology, analytics, and intent-based networking,” said Pascal Menezes, CTO, MEF. “We expect to see demonstrations of MEF 3.0 services that are based on MEF’s work in SD-WAN, inter-carrier automation, LSO interoperability with SDN and NFV, Optical Transport, Carrier Ethernet, and IP.”

The Call for Proposals is now open. Companies interested in participating in the MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase can submit their demonstration proposal via the submission portal here: https://www.mef.net/2019_PoC_Submissions_Portal. Detailed submissions should be received by May 10, 2019, and the submission process will be completely closed on July 12, 2019.

Selected participants will be announced on July 29, 2019. Participation will be limited to a maximum of 20 demonstration teams, with each team having a minimum of three participating companies – service providers, technology vendors, and/or service orchestration solutions providers.
