MEF 105 Draft Release 5 Performance Monitoring and Service Readiness Testing for SD-WAN

2023 Jan

Summary:

The requirements for Performance Monitoring of SD-WAN Service and the information that the SD-WAN Service Provider provides to the SD-WAN Subscriber are detailed within this document.

Abstract

An SD-WAN Service, as defined in MEF 70.1, uses Performance Monitoring metrics to identify degradations or failures. The metrics that are shared with SD-WAN Subscribers are de-scribed in this document. In addition, Service Readiness Testing (SRT) requirements for SD-WAN services are defined within this document. SD-WAN Performance Monitoring uses IP packets to make performance measurements and calculate Performance Metrics as specified in MEF 61.1.

The requirements for Performance Monitoring of SD-WAN Service and the information that the SD-WAN Service Provider provides to the SD-WAN Subscriber are detailed within this document. The Service Readiness Testing requirements are focused on the IP level. Service Readiness Testing topics cover SD-WAN Service Readiness Measurement Point (SRMP), SD-WAN Test Function, SD-WAN Test Methodologies, and the SRT Report for an SD-WAN Service.
